XMAS TREES

We have completed our Xmas tree fundraiser for 2025 . Thank you to everyone that assisted in organizing, helping with pick up, deliveries and selling etc This year we had 90% of all our families participate. A special thanks to Michael Free ( our Venturer leader)  who runs this fundraiser and prepares and plans all the deliveries and pickups at the Ford St hall. 

We have raised just over $15,000 for our Group and this money will be used to provided resources for our leader to run exiting and fun activities for your children.

Dates to remember 

Cuboree 12 - September 28 - October 2 2026

A Cuboree is a massive camp over five days and four nights, held every three years for Cub Scouts. Cubs camp out with their Leaders and parent helpers, and engage in a challenging activity program plus night-time entertainment.

Nippon Jamboree

Applications are now open for the Nippon Jamboree, being held in Hiroshima, Japan, in August 2026. 

This event is open to Scouts and Venturer Scouts aged 12 to 18 (at the time of the event), and Adult Line Leaders / International Service Team (IST). Participant numbers are limited for this event, so submit your application ASAP.

This is a chance to be part of a smaller, close-knit contingent, less than a year from now!

Please read the application information before submitting your registration, and check out this video from a previous Nippon Scout Jamboree in 2018!  

Please note that the 19th Nippon Scout Jamboree will be very hot and humid. Additionally, there will be significant language, cultural and societal differences to be aware of and comfortable with. There are also expectations for participants that may differ from those at Australian Jamborees; read more about them here.

UNIT START BACK  DATES for 2026 will be sent out (and put on the web site)  over the next few weeks once the leader have finalized planning for 2026.

A reminder that Cubs will be running from 6.30pm to 8.00pm next year.

OPEROO

Sadly for the leaders and me Operoo is ceasing operation in Australia. This has been a fantastic tool to manage member profiles and medical information and for communication. Scout Victoria is actively engaged in looking for an alternative however for the first part of 2026 we will be reverting to paper documents and emails for communication. This will mean that we will require a hard copy ( PDF) of each members medical records and a hard copy PDF signed copy of permission form for all activities .Please get these forms to us when required as Youth members will not be permitted to participate unless the correct paperwork has been submitted.

We will send out the blank Y4 ( medical record form ) in January for everyone to complete.

As the year comes to an end I would like to wish all our families a very merry Christmas. I really hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas break and that we can all see  each other again in the new year. Thank you to the leaders, committee and helpers in our scout group that have volunteered there time and created scouting programs and activities that our children have enjoyed. As a volunteer myself I understand the feeling and achievement of giving and I greatly appreciate the efforts of all my friends at 10th Ivanhoe
